I am a big fan of superfood shakes and drink mixes. They are versatile and you can change them up with a variety of different ingredients, like protein powder, fresh produce, flax seeds, coconut oil, etc.. Essentially, you can make a complete meal out of shake with the right ingredients.
However, shakes are not always convenient. If you are traveling, working in your office or not in close range of a blender, whipping up a shake is not going to be very easy. And besides, we’re not always in the mood to make and drink a shake.

In times like these, we can take advantage of superfood supplements or green food supplements. I know, a capsule is not the same as a fresh stalk of broccoli or spinach leaf. However, sometimes I just don’t want to chew on a leaf of spinach. I’m sure you can relate.
What to Look For…
Of course, if we’re going to take superfood supplements, we might as well get the most bang for our buck. Here’s what I mean:
1. If you can, choose a supplement that contains organic ingredients. Without added pesticides, you get another instant benefit.
2. Try to get product that provides a wide variety of superfoods (except wheat grass). This way, you don’t limit yourself on nutrients even though you may be eating only a few small capsules.
3. Some products include pre-biotics, probiotics or both. This is yet another benefit, as it aids in food digestion.
4. There are other things you may want to look for, although they are not deal breakers – just more benefits. Things like vege-capsules, raw ingredients and gluten-free (most are).
When you look at the cost per serving of some of the top-rated superfood supplements below, you’ll notice that you get between 5 and 7 servings of organic fruit and vegetables for between 50 and 75 cents per serving.
How else would you be able to buy 5-7 servings of organic green vegetables for less than $1? Seriously?
